Stay compliant!: Although fluoxetine sticks around in the system for several days, it is not uncommon to experience minor withdrawal symptoms with several missed doses. The key is to avoid missing doses. Please use medications as advised by your provider.

Possibly : Fluoxetine has a long half life of about 2 to 4 days as well as an active metabolite with an even longer half life. Because of this, it is possible to dose this drug less often than once daily and still get therapeutic benefit. Some symptoms (i.e. Side effects) may not show up until you have been on this medication for an extended period of time, because your levels continue to rise for many day.
