Probably not: One of the complications of a foreign body (metal) in the skin is a pustule or a collection of pus secondary to contamination with skin bacteria. Now that you have removed the metal piercing, it is likely that with hot soaks and keeping the skin clean with soap and hot water, the superficial infection will resolve. If the infection persists for more than a week, see your physician.
