Check with A Doctor: If you have acute swelling along with pain and suspect acute clot DVT then you must check with er or your pcp asap because you need blood thinners like heparin/coumadin .. Aspirin does nothing for acute dvt.

Once you mention : A blood clot, it must be ruled out. Blood clots can kill you. Please see your internist tomorrow. A venous duplex should be able to tell you immediately if a clot is present.
