Surgery vs cast: If the displacement is minor, then a cast may be adequate. If there is marked displacement then surgery is required to realign the ankle joint to avoid disability.

Depends: Complex descisiont ree lots of evidenced based info goal of treatment is acurate reconstruction ankle joint and early motion to avoid stifness. Thereare 5 different classification schemes displaced surgery, nondisplaced fibula only cast can be usef.
