I keep getting swollen lymph nodes. they only last a couple of days but are painful. what is causing this?

Infection: Lymph nodes swell when they are fighting infection. It's good that they hurt. Painless swelling is worrisome. Use tylenol, (acetaminophen) advil, aleve, or Aspirin for relief of pain. Be glad you have good defenses!

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. Repeated episodes of lymph gland enlargement warrants seeing a doctor.
