What could be the cause of a painful, swollen cubital (i believe) lymph node? i have no injuries, abrasions, cuts, etc.

Size?: If you dont have cat scratch disease or any point of entry on skin like a skin puncture on the hand or any part below the antecubital fossa then the concern is how large is the node and if there are others inside the chest, neck, axilla, groins etc. Lymphoma may sometimes be discovered by removing an enlarged peripheral lymph node.Go see your doctor or your oncologist.

Monitoring Centers: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well.
