Likely muscle spasm: Sitting in the cramped car for 16 hrs is not fun and as we get older we are subjected to more and more aches and pain. Muscle spasm is quite common after such a trip. Gentle massage, range of motion, and use of some antiinflammatory meds such as aleve, (naproxen) motrin/advil and/or muscle rubs such as icy-hot/bengay/aspercream etc..Can help. If persistent, consult doc for some different meds. Good luck.

Doing right things: You should just need some time and avoid any prolonged sitting or driving right now. Heat applications alternating with ice applications may also help in addition to tylenol (acetaminophen) use and if you have no stomach problems, Aspirin allergy and not on any blood thinners, you can also take ibuprophen or naproxen. Rest and activity modification are important. If no better, then see your doctor.
