Can upper back pain lead to left arm feeling heavy?

Yes: Sometimes a disc herniation will present as a deep achy pain or sharp pain along the scapula or shoulder blade on the same side as the arm affected which can feel heavy without any neck symptoms. This could also be a heart problem especially if it is affecting the left side. Rarely, a tumor in the top part of the lung on that side can present like this-a pancoast tumor. You should be evaluated.
