Yes.: An enlarged liver (hepatomegaly) can be felt by a trained physician. The physician would push just below your ribs and have you take a deep breath. Your deep breathing will "push" the liver downward below the rib margin.

Maybe, maybe not: This really dependent on how much of an enlargement and your body habitus--thin vs obese. If the enlargement is mild and person is very obese, it may not be possible to tell accurately by physical exam. On the other hand, an enlarged liver in someone very thin may result in over-estimate of the enlargement. A wel trained physician can approximate most cases, but we all have limits. Hope this helps.
