Significant probelms: Depending on whether you are taking medications for overactive thryoid or underactive thyroid, not taking the medication can have significant effects. I would definitely take the medication as your doctor has prescribed it.... Not doing so could have serious consequences.

Seek endocrinology and maternal-fetal medicine care and optimize your thyroid function before getting pregnant.
