I have chronic back and neck pain.i take norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) and flexeral. i'm 21 weeks pregnant and i'm wondering if baby will have withdrawal when born?

Possibly: Generally when you are taking a chronic opioid for pain control during pregnancy some amount of that medication is making it to the baby. You will need to speak with you ob/gyn doc to make sure its not something to worry about after delivery, however there is a growing number of babies having to go through withdrawal after delivery and placed in the nicu for this. Your OB should help you.

Norco (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) is a narcotic: All narcotics can cause symptoms of withdrawal after cessation of use. Everything you take affects the fetus in some way. Norco is hydrocodone and acetaminophen(tylenol). Hydrocodone is a synthetic derivative of an opiate.
