IT CAN BE: Diabetes can trigger cardiac, kidney and cerebrovascular disabilities. It is the number one cause of strokes and heart attacks, as well as blindness and need for dialysis and amputations due to poor circulation.

No: Diabetes is a diagnosis that requires lifestyle modification and medical care. It does not require that you cease work. Specific jobs may have rules (Specialty truck drivers, airplane pilots) that make work difficult with Diabetes. If you have gone unconscious due to your Diabetes or Heart Disease, driving may be prohibited for a period of months.
