Diagnosing Diabetes: Diabetes presents in all different ways. You may have increased thirst, increased urination, weight loss, blurry vision or skin rashes that don't heal. An elevated fasting glucose or an elevated hgba1c are other methods your pcp may use to diagnose new onset type 2 diabetes.
