My lower right jaw is given me problems when i lay down and i eat warm food. when i put an ice pack on it don't seem to effect it any or over-the- counter medicines. plus it's swollen a little. what should i do?

Abscessed tooth: Most likely you are having an abscessed tooth. Did the warm/hot food caused a toothache also? Can you pin point where the pain comes from? Please see a dentist asap. He/she can diagnose the problem and fix it.

Necrotic tooth: Sounds like you have a necrotic tooth. See your dentist. You may have a "dead tooth" which needs a root canal filling. A necrotic tooth vs an acutely abscessed tooth will have totally different symptoms.

See your dentist : Sound like it may be a dental infection. You could start with your dentist and have him/her evaluate you. If not then see an ENT as it might be a salivary gland problem.
