Maybe: Physiotherapy is the treatment of disease by physical exercise, massage, electrical therapy, etc. A ligament will generally heal if it does move, that means keeping it splinted or casted for 3-6 weeks. It may not be as strong or it may be stretched, thus therapy can help to strengthen it. Sometimes surgery is needed. Also depends which ankle ligaments are injured and how long it has been.

They can not: The ligaments can not be repair with pt, what pt does is to strengthen the remaining sructures of the ankle so you ankle will not give out on you and to increase the proprioception, that is making you more aware of the surface and conditions of the ground.

It can certainly: Help the healing process. Bracing of the foot while ambulating or even non weight bearing if the damage is severe are other mechanisms to promote the healing. If the tears are severe the ankle may be left unstable and surgery may be required.
