Familial lymphoma: Majority is not. However familial aggregation of patients with lymphoma has been noted. A study estimated that the absolute lifetime risk for a 1st-degree relative of an nhl case to develop nhl is 3.6% (compared with a population risk of 2.1%) and higher in the aggressive subtype of nhl.

Unlikely: Any family history of cancer, especially in first degree relatives, may slightly increase the risk, but the chances are still very small.
