Floating rib : I assume your pain is in front at the bottom of the ribcage.Rarely this rib (10th in most folks) is disconnected from the cartilage that holds the ribs in place.The rib tends to move up and under the one above, putting pressure on the nerves right under the upper rib and causing pain.Using the fingers of the left hand to curl under the rib and pulling gently down and out can reposition and relieve.
