Is it possible that double vision can clear up after a stroke?

Fairly common: An acute insult to the brain such as stroke can cause dysfunction of one of the cranial nerves that control the eyes. The most common is vith nerve which recovers easily. Iiird nerve defects are less common and more worrisome. Brainstem strokes can cause double vision with nausea and vomiting and complex motor and sensory symptoms. It is expected that these symptoms should improve with rehab.
