KEEP IT WET: Artificial tears until it clears. It looks a lot worse than what it is. Even 1/3 of a drop of blood can completely make the white of your eye turn red.

Subconjunctival heme: A red spot on the eye in the absence of other symptoms is usually a benign "bruise" or subconjunctival hemorrhage. Unless you are on blood thinners i would not be alarmed unless recurrent. It will go away. If you wear contact lenses, there are other symptoms, or the eye is pink all over instead of red, you should see an eye doctor soon.
