Misoprostil: We usually give a dose of misoprostil in non-pregnant women to soften & dilate the cervix. This allows easier access through the cervix for endometrial biopsy, hysteroscopy, or endocervical sampling. Most biopsies of the cervix don't require this so ask your doc for your indication. On the other hand, it's a very safe and low risk medication usually given the night before the procedure. Take care.
