Age isn't everything: Age is important, but it is not everything. The survival will depend more on the stage of the colorectal cancer, the overall health condition of the patient, the biology of the cancer and the response to treatment. For instance, for stage i and 2 colon cancer, the five year survival rate is between 75-90%, stage iii- from 40-65% and stage IV is less than 10%. Discuss with your md.

Depends on the stage: If stage 1 or 2, good survival. If stage 3 or lymph node involvement, less than stage 1 or 2. If stage 4 or metastatic disease, the survival depends on response to therapy and the patient's comorbidities. Hope this helps.
