Chronic cough: The three commonest causes for a chronic cough are asthma, nasal/sinus conditions and gastroesophageal reflux. Thick secretions might be causing the cough to make you feel like you'll vomit. Wheezing sounds like you are in the asthma area. Even without insurance, you can get care. Try calling your county's medical society for guidance to a free clinic or federally-funded community clinic.
