Not sure: There is a small nerve that travels from the ear canal (deep) area to the tongue that if it's mobility is altered somehow may cause some pain that is percieved to be comeing from your ear. Also, as you swallow, the pressure gradient can change in your middle ear and if there is inflammation present or a significant change in pressure, it may cause pain / soreness. I recommend seeing an ENT doctor.
