A member asked:

Is it possible to have a b6 deficiency but have an elevated b6 via blood test. how does p5p work into this equation? would this cause a gaba issue?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Caveat emptor: The inability to convert b6 / pyridoxine into the active form p5p is a rare inborn error of metabolism; giving p5p produces dramatic improved health. B6 is borderline in some diets, including both the american junk food and many "holistic spiritual" diets, but if a reputable lab found a normal level, i would be unconcerned. "gaba issues" is fringe medicine. Good luck.
