A member asked:

Is there a similar bc to nuvaring that has less hormones?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sadly, no: Nuvaring is the only birth control just like it. The Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud has fewer hormones (and no estrogen), but, as you can guess from the name, it's an intrauterine device, not a ring that sits in your vagina. I think it would be great to have ring with lower dosing, as we've seen with oral contraceptives, lower doses can be just as effective. Write to NuvaRing and recommend they make a low-dose!
