May be early for kid: At least 25% of normally functioning kids are not potty trained at three & it may be early to start for your child. Have the equipment on hand & show him where it is. Encourage him practice the maneuvers involved & cut the process into teachable parts, rewarding each skill attained. Become an assistant not a a timekeeper & let him pick out when he wants to try/go.
