Need more test: No actual difference except if the patient is thin and the physician can assess the size of the aorta which is not accurate . Best thing to do if you suspect an abdominal aortic aneurysm is to have a duplex ultrasound , it is none invasive and takes few minutes to perform . Nothing to do with gas or colin movement.

Get an ultrasound: The best way to rule out an abdominal aortic aneurysm is with an ultrasound. Aneurysms are a disease of older age. Bowel gas would not change the physical exam of an aneurysm.
