Depends: In thin people, one can see the pulsation of the abdominal aorta. But it may also be a sign of an aneurysm. If it is very prominent, it should get evaluated, especially if one has a strong family history of vascular disease, aneurysms, or smoking.

depends: May be normal in a thinner or fit patient, or may indicate dilation of the aorta (aneurysm). An ultrasound will sort this out and is painless and easy.
