A member asked:

I had a myelogram done and it showed two areas with a thecal sac deformity. can this be dangerous? i had l3-4 surgery in the area noted back in 03.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Thecal sac deformity: It is common to find thecal sac deformities usually bulging discs. The most important thing is not the radiologic finding, but the clinical one: is there weakness or a loss of sensation or pain some place. If that place is the appropriate root, then maybe the deformity has clinical relevance. Classically, clinical signs and radiologic finding and electrodiagnostic abnormalitities must match.
