Depends: If there is decreased calcium you should probably see your family doctor for blood work & a bone density study.

An x-ray: Does not show "less calcium". An x-ray can show decreased bone density or osteopenia. One can try and build the bone density by supplementing with calcium but i would also recommend checking your vitamin d levels and if low supplemeting both. I am surprised the doc who mentioned it to you did not offer you a recommendation. Have vit d checked then discuss with doc pending those results.
