Unlikely but possibl: Epilepsy is a chronic condition. In children there is an excellent chance of outgrowing seizures. In adults this is much less likely. Unfortunately there is an increasing incidence of epilepsy as we age. Trauma and chronic insults and vascular disease and other toxic effects accumulate with age. However, with good treatment including epilepsy surgery you may improve to "cure".

Unlikely: "growing out" of epilepsy mostly occurs with children whose epilepsy abates with puberty. There are other instances, of course, but that's the majority. If, after 38 years, you haven't "grown out of it, " i wouldn't hold my breath. Best make sure you and your epileptologist have worked hard on seizure-freedom through meds, surgery, whatever.
