Many hours or More: This drug taken by mouth has a "duration of action" of 3-6 hours, has its "peak effect" from 0.5-1.0 hours, and its concentration in the body will still be at 50% at the 5 hour mark....Considerably longer if your ability to metabolize it is impaired (say with liver problems). So, itching, nausea, constipation and drowsiness may last for many hours! please ask your personal physician about this!
