A member asked:

I am a 46 year's male and diabetic for the past 14 years. for the past one year i have gained 7 kgs weight. is it normal ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ins more than outs: 15+ lbs of wt gain in 1 yr is a bit much, especially for a diabetic in whom wt loss is advisable. Some diabetic meds/insulin can cause wt gain because they can increase appetite and thus increased intake of food. Also, you may not have been as active now. Check with your doc to make sure thyroid status is ok as this can do so as well. It is not an easy task to lose wt. Consult doc. Good luck.
