A member asked:

Could calcium repair a bone's damaged growth plate?

No :-(: If a child's growth plate has been injured, the problem is that the growth plate, which is made of cartilage and not bone might "fuse" or stop growing. Calcium will not prevent injury incidence, or heal a growth plate following an injury. The treatment of growth plate injuries depends on the type of injury, how old the child is, and a number of other factors ---.

Not really: The growth plate is cartilage. If damaged it can lead to premature growth arrest or asymmetric growth. Calcium will not fix this situation.
