Likely a hematoma: From what you describe, it sounds like a hematoma, or blood collection. It also may be other things. Seeing a doctor in person would be the way to go, really.

Prepatellar bursitis: Best to tell you to get an xray and get evaluated, but this may be is irritation to the bursal sac / front of the tendon below your knee cap. It could be just mechanical irritation and bruising but it could be irritated and infected. If it continues to be red hot swollen and painful get evaluated. If it is not infec ed then ice, compression 1st but avulsion can occur at the tendon junction too.
