Cold, allergy, sinus: But which? That is the eternal question. If symptoms have been present less than 1 week & mucous is yellow or green it's almost certainly a cold. Rx: rest, lots of liquids, saline nasal spray, ibuprofen, aspirin, or acetominophen. When symptoms last more than a week it may be allergy or sinusitis. Mucous water, sneezing, itching - that's allergy. Cough, thick mucous, headache likely sinusitis.
