Not by itself: Candidiasis in the mouth usually results from an underlying immune deficiency like hiv, or other chronic illnesses like diabetes. Those if not adequately controlled can cause harm and should be treated. Once the underlying condition is treated, the oral candidiasis will resolve easily with treatment.
