A member asked:

When you use medicine for norwegion scabies how long does it take for bumps and itching to go away? i have done 3 doses of the cream and still red bumps and itchy real bad please help!

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Weeks to months: After you treat scabies, the itching and the rash may take a couple of weeks to months before they go away. But as long as you aren't getting new rashes, you should stop treating it with the cream. Topical cortisone creams and anit-itch creams can help with the itch as can oral antihistamines. I recommend nonsedating antihistamines during the day: loratidine, fexofenadine; Benadryl (diphenhydramine) at night.
