May not matter : I would guess that the sustained or extended release may be a better choice as uc is a chronic condition. However, the best bet would be talk to the prescribing doctor and pay attention to your ability to tolerate the drug and note any adverse side effects. Report anything that you note that you think is related to the drug to your doctor. They can adjust the dose and type.
