A member asked:

Is the treatment different for crohn's compared to uc? initially diagnosed as uc, but may be crohn's. on remicade (infliximab) and sulfasalizine (3 mg /day).

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not really: Both use the same medications. Uc has a higher risk of colon cancer down the road and can be helped with surgery where crohn's cannot. (also look into chinese medicine and acupuncture as adjunctive therapies. ).
