A member asked:

I have about 3 to 4 migraines a month is there any medicines that i could ask my dr. to. prescribe me that can prevent them?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes: Migraine management is in three parts. First is to determine triggers and try to modify or avoid them. Second is acute abortive treatment with triptans and/or Aspirin agents. The third is preventative management. Inderal (propranolol) has been used for years, also calcium channel blockers, antidepressants, and certain seizure medications. Discuss these with your physician.
