One of several: There are many drugs that can be tried for migraine prevention. The one that has been studied the most, to my knowledge, and has the greatest chance of success, is propranolol. However, many other drugs have been reported to have success as well, such as calcium channel blockers like norvasc, which comes in a generic called amlodipine.
