They should not: Seizures are a sudden discontrol of the brain that then corrects. Some patients have prolonged or repetitive seizures that can cause long term defects. Some patients have side effects of medication that affect memory and attention. Some have an underlying disorder of the brain that is causing both the memory loss and the seizures. A thorough neurological evaluation would be appropriate.
