Squamous Cell: Symptoms squamous cell skin cancer usually occurs on the face, ears, neck, hands, or arm. It may occur on other areas. The main symptom is a growing bump that may have a rough, scaly surface and flat reddish patches. The earliest form appears as a scaly, crusted, and large reddish patch (often larger than 1 inch). A sore that does not heal can be a sign of squamous cell cancer.

Sun damage: I will assume you are referring to squamous cell carcinoma. This common skin cancer is most likely related to sun exposure. It could be related to chemical exposure or burn scars. If you are dealing with multiple different cancers it is due to regional damage. If a cancer is recurrent, it was not completely removed/treated in the first place. Discuss w/ your cancer md.

UV radiation: The most likely cause is previous exposure to uv radiation from the sun.
