Pain Specialist: At this point i would recommend a pain specialist if you are not already seeing one. Pain from chronic pancreatitis is tough to treat. You may benefit from medication management with a sustained release opioid and some occasional immediate release meds for flares. A celiac plexus block may help with the chronic nature of the pain. Spinal cord stimulation can also be helpful.

Another way is have a epidural pain pump placed with continuous epidural narcotics. Another treatment is spinal cord stimulator placed to decrease pain. For energy, antidepressants may help. Tough situation: Chronic pancreatitis is no fun. Treatment will partially depend on the cause of it. Pain control is hard to achieve even with opiods. One option I am aware of that can be effective is solar (celiac) plexus injection/destruction because this plexus (nerve collection) is the one responsible for pain in patients with chronic pancreatitis. Talk to you gastroenterologist about it.
