GI tract cramping: After you eat, your GI tract is very active. Sometimes this can cause a cramping sensation particularly if there is gas in the large bowel. Stomach and colon cramping could present as discomfort in the left rib-cage area. Depending on severity, duration, related symptoms, and other factors, you may wish to have an evaluation at some point. Hope this helps!

Most likely gas: Gas in the stomach or colon is the most likely cause. But if you have risk factors for heart disease as hight cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, or family history and especially if the chest pain comes on doing any effort , then check with your doctor to rule out heart condition.
