Bacterial vaginosis: There are many different kinds of vaginal bacteria growing in your vagina which are normal and actually protect you. However, bacterial vaginosis (bv for short) is caused by an imbalance of these different kinds of bacteria. The most common is an overgrowth of gardnerella vaginalis. You may have a frothy fishy discharge, partic after sex. Treat with antibiotics. See an ob/gyn.
