Preidex stain: Probably is the peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate). It will stain teeth , gums , tongue . Often a follow up at the dentist for a final cleaning and evaluation is necessary after Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) is finished.

Unrelated: Gingivitis is inflammation in the gum caused by dental related bacteria. Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) will decrease bacteria but nothing can completely reverse gingivitis except good oral hygiene, so floss and brush and if you had a good cleaning it should go away.

Multiple reasons: Peridex (chlorhexidine gluconate) can stain teeth, tonsils & gums. Given to help control infection. Gingivitis is early gum disease (infection). But you really need a professional cleaning followed by daily excellent oral hygiene regimen to control infection. No rinse or mouth wash will control oral infections. Need to brush 2 min by the clock 2x/day, and floss 1x/day...Every day!
