No, not unless...: No, licorice root will not affect one's ability to quit smoking, unless for some personal reason, the licorice root gives the person more self-confidence in his own ability to succeed in the challenge of "kicking the habit".

Licorice: Llicorice is used as a flavoring in tobacco products. Sucking on Licorice can satisfy oral fixations while providing a flavor that it also found in most cigarettes. But, there are no specific components that cause smoking to cease.
