Probably: Many children grow out of their asthma. Consult a doctor to see what to avoid and what household changes to make and you may be able to control his asthma without medication.

Not necessarily: There are many lower respiratory viruses that cause wheezing in infants & toddlers most (70%) grow up to be asymptomatic after 5. The more severe asthma can be evident in infants & toddlers, often showing other issues like eczema & have a strong family history of asthma in either or both parents.
